Last night was an incredibly shock as we witnessed violence and looting rip our city apart after such meaningful and peaceful protests following Freddie Gray's death.
For those that felt helpless watching their beloved city be destroyed, or for those that were directly affected - clean up efforts have begun, and neighbors are coming out to help one another put the pieces back together.
It won't be easy, and it won't be fast, and the damage is far deeper than looted buildings and broken glass, but it is how we respond in this moment of crisis that can help be a catalyst for lasting change.
Please consider joining one of the clean up efforts - The Tool Library will be on hand this morning at North / Penn Ave, 10am with extra shovels, rakes, garbage bags, and gloves. Show this city some love, show your fellow neighbors some support and solidarity.
