SCOUT: The Station North Tool Library

Shout out from !!!! What cool people :) Glad they like us :D Check their work out – truly talented folks!

Last week we met with John Shea and Piper Watson of the Station North Tool Library, and we’re still buzzing from the meeting. They, along with a badass team of employees and volunteers, created a space where people can not only borrow tools, but also learn how to use them. Anyone can join for a suggested donation of $1 per every $1,000 made annually, and the donation grants full access to an enormous collection of tools. And after a safety class is completed, the back of the shop is available for workshops like knife making and wood working.

We love this idea of access. By (literally) giving people the tools to fix and create, endless possibilities arise. Folks from all backgrounds have converged to form a community of doers, simply because they feel empowered to create, and because they can get what they need to complete a project.
