POLICIES

Generally speaking, just be cool!  We work our tails off to provide a safe, friendly, and affordable resource to a broad spectrum of people.  By adhering to these policies, we can keep things running smoothly, fair for everyone as a shared resource, and properly funded for the doors to stay open, the lights to stay on, and happy people greet you!

RENEWING TOOLS

All tools (except really popular things we only have 1 of) can be renewed ONCE

• By PHONE 410 347 0850 - If you leave a message, you'll get emailed a receipt, and any incurred late fees are prorated from the date you phoned.
• OR by EMAIL
• IF tools are already late when you call to renew, you are still responsible for late fees incurred and date is prorated so that total rental period still maxes out at 2 weeks.  So if your tools are already 3 days late, you can only renew them for 4 additional days - not 1 week.

• The late fee is $1 per day, per tool - even days we are closed - please understand, we are all sharing these tools. 
• Members will not be charged more in late fees than the item is worth.
• When tools are 60 DAYS LATE, members will be given 1 week to return before membership is permanently revoked.

CLASS CANCELLATION  POLICY

SHOP SAFETY I

• Please give a minimum of 24 hours notice
• Refunds given as class credit

ALL OTHER CLASSES

• Please give a minimum of 48 hours notice
• Refunds given as class credit

NO REFUNDS GIVEN FOR

• No shows
• Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance of a Shop Safety Class
• Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance of All Other Classes
• Please understand that our classes have limited space and we rely on them to be full in order to cover the costs of running this whole project and making it affordable for all.

MINORS IN THE PUBLIC WORKSHOP

Ages 7-13

• Can take any of our classes accompanied by an adult who is also registered for the class, unless otherwise indicated in the course description (Example, kids-only classes)
• Can utilize Open Shop hours, accompanied by an adult who is also a member and who has also completed the Shop Safety Class (special Adult/Kid combo pricing is available for Shop Safety)

Ages 14-17

• Maturity is a MUST and students 14-17 are expected to be able to function safely and independently in an adult environment
• Can take any of our classes after a parent/caregiver signs our Shop Waiver in person
• Can utilize Open Shop hours after completion of the Shop Safety Class and with consent of that instructor
