Fix It Fair
Fix It Fair is a free event hosted by the Station North Tool Library and open to the public. At Fix It Fair, you’ll find tools and materials to help you make common repairs on clothes, furniture, electronics, bikes, etc. Expert volunteers, with repair skills in all kinds of fields, will be on site to assist people with their repairs.
Saturday October 20th, 2018
11a - 3pm* (repair line closes at 2:30p)
at the Station North Tool Library - 417 E Oliver St, Baltimore, 21202
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Visitors bring their broken items from home. Together with the volunteer "fixers" they start making their repairs in the Fix It Fair so it becomes an interactive and ongoing learning process.
WHAT CAN I BRING?
Other sewing repairs
Small pieces of furniture
Small household appliances
Small electrical fixes (lamps)
WILL YOU FIX IT FOR ME?
Visitors are getting help to do the repair themselves, we provide most materials for common fixes and hands-on instruction.
We make no guarantee of repairs and longer, more in-depth repairs may be referred to a local repair service.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
This is a FREE event!
Repair advice and materials are free for common fixes.
However, larger, more specialized repairs (like new brakes on a bicycle or a new zipper in a dress) may require the purchase of additional parts. Due to the nature of this free event, we cannot guarantee that volunteer "fixers" will have the required parts available for purchase or be able to make these repairs in a timely fashion. That being said, we will try our best to help with all your fixes and repairs!
