Class FAQs

+ Cancellations, Reschedules & Refunds

We keep our classes small for the best learning experience, meaning one or two cancellations can lead to the whole class being cancelled. Thanks for your understanding.

• All refunds are given as class credit
• No refunds can be given for:
  • Cancellation of Shop Safety with less than 24 hours notice
  • Cancellation of any other class with less than 48 hours notice
  • No-shows
• Exceptions to the policy above may be made if you are sick or if you or one of your household members has tested positive for COVID and is currently in isolation. In this case, we request as much notice as possible, with a four-hour minimum.
• Class credit must be used within 365 days of your purchase.

Limited exceptions may be made if we can fill your spot from a wait list, or if you can transfer your spot to a new learner.

Email classes@toollibrary.org immediately if you need to cancel or reschedule!

+ Wait Lists

When a class fills up, a wait list becomes available. You must log in to your account to see the option to join the wait list! If a space opens, you'll automatically be added to the class and receive both an email and text notificaton.

Joining a waitlist requires you to pay for the class at the time of enrolling onto the waitlist. This is to ensure that if you make it off the waitlist, your spot will be held with your payment.

If you don't make it into the class, your payment will go back to your account and can be used towards a future sessions enrollment.

Email classes@toollibrary.org if you have any questions, would like to join multiple waitlists without paying multiple fees, or would like a wait list fee refunded (remember that it will automatcally become a useable credit on your account if you do not make it off a waitlist).

+ COVID Precautions and Expectations

• MASKS WELCOME: All participants, volunteers, and staff are encouraged and welcome to wear a mask while on-site. In addition to reducing the spread of viruses, it's a good practice in any dusty shop setting! A fully masked class may be requested anytime by emailing classes@toollibrary.org at least 48 hours in advance; we will then make an anonymous request to the rest of the participants and teacher to mask up.

• OTHER CONSIDERATIONS: Classes are capped between 6-8 participants per class, depending on the size of the classroom. Smaller class sizes help reduce risk, create more time for one-on-one instruction, and allow for social distancing. Our wood shop is equipped with fans, including an industrial vent fan, to promote circulation of fresh air.

+ How to Pay with a Gift Card or Account Credit

Please log into our Mindbody registration site to pay with a gift card or account credit. You will need the number code on your giftcard to apply it at checkout. Need help? Email us at info@toollibrary.org or give us a call at 410-347-0850.

+ How To Register Multiple People for a Class

Please email classes@toollibrary.org to confirm that all class takers have been registered for the correct date. It is possible to purchase two seats in the class, but only register one attendee. We know that's confusing – so call or email us to confirm ASAP! If a class is overenrolled due to this error, we reserve the right to reschedule in order to maintain class capacity.
